Synthesis and Characterization of Energetic 1,2‐Bis(Oxyamino)Ethane Salts

The synthesis, characterization, theoretical calculations, and safety studies of energetic salts based on 1,2‐bis(oxyamino)ethane, (H 2 NOCH 2 CH 2 ONH 2 ), were carried out. The salts were characterized by vibrational (infrared, Raman), multinuclear NMR studies ( 1 H, 13 C), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), elemental analysis, and initial safety testing (impact and friction sensitivity). Single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies were carried out on the mono‐perchlorate and the double nitrate salts, revealing the expected structures.
