Managing the national rice supply in Indonesia remains a complex task, largely due to the absence of an integrated information system capable of connecting stakeholders across the supply chain. Fragmented data and limited transparency often result in inefficiencies, from production and distribution to consumption. These challenges are further compounded by external factors such as climate variability, market fluctuations, and infrastructure gaps, which together threaten the reliability and sustainability of rice as a staple food. To address these issues, this study introduces BERASKU, a digital information system model designed to strengthen visibility, traceability, and sustainability within Indonesia’s rice supply chain. Drawing on case studies conducted in several rice production centers in West Java, the researchers identified core problems, including extreme weather events, unequal price distribution, and insufficient support infrastructure. The findings highlight the urgent need for a system that not only consolidates data but also supports responsive and evidence-based decision-making. More importantly, the system encourages active participation from local participants, ensuring that decision-making processes are inclusive and grounded in field realities. This model helps promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by connecting digital innovation with sustainable supply chain practices, specifically SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Overall, BERASKU represents a forward-thinking and innovative approach to developing a resilient rice supply chain capable of adapting to future difficulties while ensuring national food security.
