This academic paper, titled "Data-Driven Decision Making and Managerial Experience in the Internationalization Strategy of Digital Platform Companies: The Case of Rappi, departamento del Meta, Colombia (2026)", examines how Latin American digital platforms navigate rapid international expansion. Using a qualitative case study methodology focused on the delivery and "super app" platform Rappi, the authors investigate the critical interplay between Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) and traditional managerial experience. The study demonstrates that while real-time data analytics and algorithmic logistics are vital for operational efficiency and regional scalability, they are insufficient on their own when confronting the fragmented regulatory landscapes, volatile economies, and fierce localized competition (such as iFood in Brazil) typical of the Latin American market. Ultimately, the paper concludes that long-term competitive sustainability for "born global" digital firms relies heavily on dynamic capabilities—specifically, the strategic judgment and adaptability of human leadership to interpret analytical data and transform it into flexible, localized strategies.
