Abstract

This article presents a concise analysis of the security and lifecycle of the PostgreSQLdatabase versions.Using the geol tool to check End-of-Life dates, trivy to scan vulnerabilities in officialDocker images, and skopeo to inspect remote image metadata, I establish a risk profile forcurrently supported and unsupported versions.The goal is to demonstrate the crucial importance of using maintained versions and thevalue of combining generative AI with optimally designed CLI tools to automate and enrichthis type of analysis.
