This article systematically analyzes the role and influence of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's work in world literature. The study examines the writer's main works, his contribution to literary trends, and his role in developing the concept of world literature. Historical-literary analysis, comparative method, intertextual approach, and systematic approach were used. The results show that Goethe's work played a decisive role in the development of not only German, but also European and global literary processes, and created the theoretical foundation for intercultural dialogue. The results of the article are of theoretical and practical importance for the fields of literary studies, comparative literary studies, and cultural studies.
