C. P. Snow coined the term "Two Cultures" in 1959 and set in motion a debate on science and the humanities that has refused to die. Other writers have noticed differences between the disciplines, particularly in the areas of research literature and the behavior of scholars. The ways in which the disciplines differ are important to examination of the literatures. The behavior and products of scholars also have implications for collection management.
