AbstractInvestigations in animals and man have demonstrated that lymphocytes can be subdivided into populations with large and small amunts of cell surface lmmunoglobulins, identified as bone marrow (B) and thymus (T) derived lymphocytes respectively. We damonstrate that the incubation of human peripheral blood lymphocytes with a sufficiently long column of nylon wool results in the recovery of a pure population of nonimmunoglobulin bearing cells. This provides for the first time an opportunity to study the functional properties of pure human T-lymphocytes.
