SUMMARY One hundred and twenty‐three cases of carcinoma of the prostate are reviewed with a five‐year follow up of thirty‐six cases and a three‐year follow up of a further forty cases. Methods of diagnosis and treatment are discussed. Evidence is shown that treatment improves the outlook for such cases significantly, but that it never cures the disease.
