Impinging spray characteristics, i.e., spray shape, droplet diameter, and distribution of excess air ratio are measured in the high-pressure fuel injection. In addition to the measurements of spray characteristics, the shape and thickness of adhered fuel film are also measured. The results on the measurement are as follows. (1) Spray tip extension increases with rising fuel pressure. (2) Mean droplet diameter becomes small after impinging. (3) Adhered fuel film becomes thinner with rising fuel pressure.
