Why the study?
Increasing health sector data presents opportunities for advanced technologies to enhance clinical decision support, but managing sensitive data safely and effectively requires appropriate strategies.
Proposes a novel architecture combining Blockchain and AI to enhance the security, efficiency, and reliability of clinical decision support systems.
Hypothesis-generating for blockchain-AI CDSS; prospective validation needed before clinical consideration.
With the exponential increase in the availability of data in the health sector, new opportunities are emerging for the application of advanced technologies, such as Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, capable of optimising processes, managing resources efficiently, improving the quality of medical care and reinforcing Clinical Decision Support Systems. However, the management of sensitive data requires the adoption of appropriate strategies to ensure it is used safely and effectively in different contexts. This work presents an innovative architecture that integrates emerging technologies, such as Blockchain, and various Artificial Intelligence approaches, including Predictive AI, Explainable AI and Generative AI. The proposed solution aims to overcome the sector’s current challenges, promoting greater efficiency in clinical practice, reducing medical errors, improving usability and accessibility to reliable data for healthcare professionals, as well as increasing confidence in all of the decision-making processes.
