This article examines the growth and scope of corporate benefits packages and theirusefulness to the average worker. A sample of benefits packages from Fortune 500 corporations was assessed, and results revealed that both the documents'readability andcomprehensibility levels far exceed that of the average worker. The study builds on therecent and growing scholarly focus on "mass" business communications and proposesa number of promising avenues for future research.
