(New York: American Elsevier Publishing Co.), 1970. These two volumes in theHandbook of Neurologyseries maintain the high standard of previous ones. Taken together, they provide a detailed reference work on demyelinating diseases, leukodystrophies, neurolipoidoses, and related topics. Each of the many authors is a recognized authority on the field about which he writes and has enough space to discuss his subject thoroughly. Inevitably a publication involving so many writers should be long in preparation. A few of the authors have died before the volumes appeared, but their contributions, like all the other chapters, have been brought as nearly up to date as can be reasonably expected.
