Some experiments using ultrasonic wave propagation in freshly frozen dog tibia are reported. Longitudinal velocity measurements indicate significant directional variations. Absorption measurements resulted in a linear relationship between absorption coefficient and frequency. Shear velocity has also been measured in bones. Subject Classification: 80.20.
