The editors have succeeded in producing a comprehensive text on the cardiovascular system, one which will please both the medical student and the practicing physician. Oriented to the patient, it emphasizes the application of the senses of the physician at the bedside in the uncovering of symptoms and signs and also in the use and interpretation of laboratory aids in recognizing the normal and abnormal. The editors are distinguished clinicians who have not hesitated to call upon others to apply their expertise. Sixty-four consultants present specific subjects with which they have become identified, and their valuable contributions are used by the editors to make clinical medicine more meaningful.
