This article highlights community‐based conceptions and articulations of warviews and coping mechanisms among refugees in a camp along the Thailand‐Burma border. The author asserts that, no matter how victimized they may feel about themselves, the refugees are capable of naming and responding to their collective sense of reality and can be active participants in their own healing and community building.
