The oscillations of a gravitating liquid star in the presence of a central magnetic pole are considered, and it is shown that the reduction in the periods of the various modes of oscillation derived in an earlier paper, in which gravitational forces were neglected, is not as great as was expected. The results are discussed in relation to the oscillation theory of magnetic variable stars.
