AbstractThere has been recent progress in the development of spectroscopic diagnostics of metal halide arcs. For the first time, a systematic quantitative analysis of the lamp can be made as the arc chemistry evolves through early life. The results provide an understanding of the mechanisms involved in the spectral performance of these lamps.
