A simplified mass ablation and relocation treatment of high-field-side/low-field-side pellet injection is proposed. It includes a model of pellet ablation, parallel flow model for the attached ablation channel and a simplified magnetohydrodynamic pellet displacement model. This treatment reveals satisfactory agreement with the present-day experiments on ASDEX-U and DIII-D tokamaks. The model provides the optimization directions for deep plasma fuelling in experiments.
