FOR more than fifty years a number of life-insurance companies have been carrying out studies pertaining to the heights, weights and mortality experience of their policy-holders.1 , 3 The most recent of these3 represents a detailed evaluation of variations in height and weight, as well as blood pressure, in relation to disease, mortality ratio and cause of death.
