The three basic developments include two major national regulatory agencies asking for and receiving comments on the approaches to be used for millimeter-wave mobile communications and Working Party 5D of the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) updating its plans and schedules for 5G development and finalizing its view of a timeline toward what is now called "IMT-2020" or "IMT for 2020 and beyond."
