(New York City, September 25, 2001)Thankfully, I was spared any personal loss. Like so many others in the city which I love, I have spent much of the past two weeks reeling from the devastation. Mostly this has meant getting back in touch with friends, frantically calling them on the phone, rushing around the city to meet with them to give them a consoling hug, but knowing that really it was me looking for the hug. I dash off simple one-line emails, let me know you're okay, okay?
