This paper focuses on conceptual considerations supporting an ongoing CALL project in the Language Studies Department at London Guildhall University, combining Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Web-based JAVA programming, CALL authoring and language teaching expertise. Designed to generate new CALL-enhanced curriculum developments, the CALL project adopts a research-based and user-centred approach with a view to improving CALL's usability and, ultimately, its general acceptability amongst a disenfranchised student population.
