Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed the landscape of education, particularly in the domain of English language learning. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-based tools in enhancing language acquisition, learner engagement, and retention. A quantitative research approach was adopted, involving 420 participants divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group utilized AI-powered applications such as Duolingo, while the control group followed traditional learning methods. Data were collected using structured questionnaires focusing on key variables such as AI functionality, ease of use, feedback mechanisms, vocabulary enhancement, user engagement, and learning analytics. The results indicate that AI-based learning significantly improves language proficiency, motivation, and retention levels. The study concludes that AI technologies, when integrated effectively with traditional teaching methods, can create a more personalized and efficient learning environment. However, challenges such as ethical concerns, data privacy, and reduced human interaction must be addressed for sustainable implementation.
