Conference report highlights epidemiological signals and practice gaps in functional neurological disorders, suggesting avenues for future research and discussion.
The 2024 International Conference on Functional Neurological Disorders brought together clinicians, researchers, advocates, and service‐user representatives to discuss recent developments in functional neurological disorder and related functional disorders. This Conference Report summarizes selected themes from oral presentations, workshops, poster sessions, and publicly available conference materials, with additional reference to published literature where needed to contextualize the discussion. The report focuses on epidemiological signals, comorbidities, terminology, diagnostic considerations, and practice gaps. Rather than providing a systematic review, clinical guideline, or formal consensus statement, this article aims to highlight topics that may inform continued discussion, research prioritization, and interdisciplinary exchange at the upcoming June 2026 Functional Neurological Disorder Society (FNDS) meeting.
