ABSTRACT A green, solar salt‐mediated oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde, Hantzsch dihydropyridines to pyridines, and methyl‐azaarenes and subsequent conversion to styryl derivatives is reported. The synthesized styryl compounds were characterized using NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and photophysical studies. DFT calculations supported the experimental data and provided insight into their electronic properties. Selected derivatives showed promising in vitro antioxidant and anticancer activities. This work highlights the utility of solar salts as sustainable promoters for oxidative transformations, offering an environmentally benign route to bioactive and photo functional heterocycles.
