Older nursing home (NH) residents’ quality of life is influenced by medical-nursing care, occupational and recreational activities, and interaction with staff. The aim of the study was to explore associations between Activity directors’ (ADs) work stressors (conflict, ambiguity, autonomy, work overload), knowledge about aging, burnout and job satisfaction (N = 149). Multiple regressions revealed that different factors had an impact on burnout and job satisfaction. Age, job seniority, conflict, work overload, and knowledge about aging were associated with burnout, whereas conflict, work overload, and autonomy were associated with job satisfaction. The importance of work conditions and recommendations for training are discussed.
