Biweekly light trap collections of mosquitoes were made at Kapuk near Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 1978 through May 1980. Monthly light trap indices of female Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Cx. gelidus were correlated significantly with total monthly rainfall. Minor peaks in Cx. tritaeniorhynchus and Cx. gelidus indices, which were observed in August during the drier months of the year, were associated with increased rainfall in late July and early August.
