Consequences involved formalized structures and procedures, grievance, salary, merit, communication, adversary relations, governance, teaching, and student affairs. Discussion of dynamics and consequences involves use of historical perspective, industrial and labor relations theory, and a comparison with other professional groups engaged in collective bargaining.
