The authors explore the effects of different plasma parameters on the Li-like 1s2l2l'-1s22l line emission feature. At very high density (Ne>1023 cm-3 for Al), the broadening is important and 1s2l2l' level populations have reached the local thermodynamical equilibrium (LTE). The broadening is mainly due to the electrons. Moreover, they show that spectra emitted on short timescales at less high densities (Ne<or=5*1022 cm-3 for Al) are strongly affected by non-steady-state population kinetics and also by a non-Maxwellian character of the plasma electron distribution function.
