This paper summarizes a literature review to compare entrepreneurial motivations of Generations Y and Z, which are defined as birth years 1980-94 (Y) and 1995-2009 (Z). A short review on what is Entrepreneurship is followed by a scan of current literature on strengths and weaknesses of GenY and GenZ in the workplace, in private, and in their inclination to become an entrepreneur by starting or leading an innovative company. The findings point to some cautious optimism, as GenZ's fearlessness may motivate them to match, or even surpass GenY's entrepreneurial track record. Note should be taken that GenZ is more strongly purpose driven than GenY, and less motivated by money. While GenZ can be very effective in the use of modern (digital) communication, they may work less hard, albeit more smart than GenY. GenZ seems to be rather visionary, while GenY was (or still is) more pragmatic. Interesting is GenZ's desire to separate work and private life, while GenY is used to merging both; GenZ, thus, does not like home office. All these impressions are early stage, especially for GenZ, as both cohorts continue to develop.
