The automated health monitoring system for daily physiological status during bathing, excretion and sleep used at a pilot house called "Welfare Techno House (WTH)" was designed. The WTH is an advanced and experimental house to evaluate systems for welfare and home health care. We tried three automated measurements of (1) electrocardiogram (ECG) in bath tub, (2) body and excreta weight in lavatory and (3) ECG in bed without utilizing body surface electrodes in a non-conscious manner at the WTH. Data acquired by the systems are routed to a master controller which is connected to PCs fitted with LAN at home. For the evaluation of automated health monitoring system, we made long continuous measurements to monitor health status in daily life of young and elderly subjects.
