Multiple classification analysis is used with data on Turkish families to examine how spouses' comparative resources are balanced in the determination of conjugal power. The bulk of the impact of each spouse's resources on power overlapped with the impact of the other spouse. However, whether assessed in terms of net increments to variance explained in power or as net category effects, the contributions of the wife had greater independent impact on power than those of the husband. The findings corroborate earlier studies as to the importance of the wife's resources in understanding the determination of conjugal power.
