CAVIAR is a novel computerized system for real-time serial ECG management and processing designed to improve diagnostic accuracy.
May aid real-time serial ECG interpretation; leaves open prospective validation before clinical adoption.
This paper presents CAVIAR, a new computerized ECG management and processing system performing serial analysis of successive ECG records in almost real time, a design which allows continuous monitoring of the acquisition process and considerably improves the overall diagnostic accuracy. The system also features a novel approach to serial ECG analysis by optimally comparing filar spatio-temporal images of the ECGs. ECG data storage and retrieval rely on the concepts developed in the European SCP-ECG project.
