Digital signal processing techniques show feasibility in reducing baseline wander and motion artifacts in ambulatory ECGs for automated ischemia detection.
Simulation feasibility supports DSP exploration for ambulatory ECGs; leaves open clinical validation for ischemia detection.
This paper presents the preliminary results of ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG) devices for the automated detection of myocardial ischemia. We focus on the reduction of interfering artifacts such as baseline wander and motion artifacts that corrupt ambulatory ECG signals and affect accuracy of ST analysis. Several digital signal processing techniques are developed for testing recorded ECG signals. Computer simulation results are presented to show feasibility of these life-saving devices.
