Cystic ectasia of intrahepatic bile ducts is a relatively rare congenital abnormality found in a spectrum of diseases including Caroli disease and congenital hepatic fibrosis. We present two cases in which computed tomography (CT) was capable of specifically diagnosing cystic ectasia of intrahepatic bile ducts by noninvasively demonstrating a significant rise in CT number of the cystic spaces after infusion of cholangiographic contrast material.
