Bibliometric and visualized review of smart tourism research

Abstract Using bibliometric analysis, this research provides a comprehensive, systematic, and visual overview of 441 studies related to smart tourism, which were published between 2010 and 2021, thus considering the state of research and trends in this research field from the beginning of smart tourism research to the entry of the fifth‐generation mobile communication technology era and the explosion of COVID‐19. It also offers insights into its future research agenda and advancing the development of smart tourism. This paper can provide intuitive and valuable information to promote theoretical and practical research on smart tourism.
