Addressed is the problem of robust H/sub infinity / control design for linear uncertain systems with time-varying norm-bounded uncertainty in both the state and input matrices. A state feedback control design is presented which stabilizes the plant and guarantees a prescribed level of H/sub infinity / disturbance attenuation for all admissible uncertainties. The robust H/sub infinity / control problem is solved via the notion of quadratic stabilization with disturbance attenuation. Necessary and sufficient conditions for quadratic stabilization with disturbance attenuation are derived.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
