Nerve membrane is one of the most important target sites of pyrethroids. Changes in excitability of nerve fibres caused by allethrin can be satisfactorily accounted for in terms of ionic permeabilities of the membrane. Temperature has a profound effect on the allethrin‐induced permeability changes.
