Presents a quick estimator to predict new species in taxonomic surveys, suggesting effective and easy calculations.
The problem considered in this paper is to use the results of an initial taxonomic survey to estimate the expected number of new species that would be observed in a second survey. A quick estimator that is easy to calculate is proposed. Some results are presented suggesting that the estimator performs well in some situations.
