The wind-solar hybrid power generation system (HPGS) has been proved to be a feasible renewable energy system. However, due to the large invested cost needed in the early stage, it is not used on a large scale. This paper mainly analyzes the economy of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) task of the wind-solar HPGS from the aspects of the topological structure, the complexity of the methods and the number of methods and controllers required, aiming to provide a reference for choosing better MPPT methods. Finally, the methods presented in the references are summarized by this review.
