PRAZOSIN (l-4-amino-6,7-dimethoxy-2-quinazoline-4-2-furoyl-piperazine) (Fig. 1), the first of a new class of antihypertensive agents, was released for clinical use in the United States in 1976.1 Although it has been used effectively as a single agent, its widest application is in combination with other drugs in the therapy of patients with chronic hypertension.
