In 49 of 99 patients who had repeat lymphangiography (LAG) for Hodgkin's disease, both initial and repeat studies were normal. None of the 99 patients had had chemotherapy prior to repeat LAG. About 30% (28 of 99) had a positive reading on repeat LAG although the initial study had been normal. Nearly 10% (8 of 99) had abnormal findings (“reactive hyperplasia”) on repeat LAG not characteristic of Hodgkin's disease. There was agreement between the LAG diagnosis and histologic findings in 22 patients who had appropriate nodes biopsied after repeat LAG.
