Abstract

The traditional project-based learning approach is often used in teaching international marketing. But it has the problem of being unrealistic due to the lack of local input. We developed an international virtual team based project involving the collaboration between American and Chinese students. Assessment indicated that students, through this international virtual team based project, demonstrated increased understanding of concepts and theories of international marketing, compared to students who were not exposed to this project. We suggest that this innovation can also be adapted to a graduate course or an intensive short course for advanced students in international business.
