Scoping review examines dashboard systems in healthcare for real-time decision-making, indicating value across various domains.
This scoping review examines the role of healthcare command and control centres, including dashboards, digital monitoring, and the system behind them in supporting real-time clinical, operational, and financial decision-making across healthcare organizations. These systems integrate data from multiple databases, such as electronic health records (EHRs), operational platforms, financial systems, and other data sources to provide on time and historical visibility, improve situational awareness, patient flow, resource utilization, patient safety, and ultimately strengthen organizational performance. The review aims to map the main domains of implemented dashboards in command center systems used in healthcare, explore their applications and value across clinical care, operations, and finance, and examine their role in enabling analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and predictive decision support. The review adopts the PRISMA-ScR methodology, and study will synthesize current evidence on system capabilities in monitored domains independently and collectively, and report the impacts on healthcare organizations.
