At the recent Colloquium on Attainment in Physics at 16+ delegates from many European countries considered the policy issues involved in senior secondary physics education. Delegates discussed four key papers on different aspects of physics education prepared by experts in those areas on the basis of background papers submitted by each participating country. The Colloquium concluded that many countries faced similar challenges and a number of proposals and areas for further study were identified.
