Evaluates a herbal roll-on for stress management, indicating it is effective and safe.
AbstractStress is a significant challenge in modern life, leading to various psychological and physiological health issues like anxiety and fatigue. The present study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal aromatic de-stress roll-on, designed as a natural and portable alternative for stress management. The formulation was developed using an oil infusion method, incorporating Ayurvedic adaptogens including Ashwagandha, Brahmi,Shatavari, Sandalwood, and Gulvel into a Jojoba oil base, with Lavender oil added for its therapeutic fragranceand Vitamin E oil for stability. The developed formulations were evaluated for physicochemical parameters suchas pH, viscosity, and homogeneity. The pH of the optimized batches was found to be in the skin-friendly rangeof 5.5 to 6.1. Viscosity measurements using a Brookfield viscometer showed results ranging from 37.5 to 40.9Cps, ensuring ease of application. A crucial safety evaluation was conducted via the Draize skin irritation test onalbino Wistar rats, which resulted in an erythema score of 0, confirming that the formulation is non-irritating andsafe for topical use. The results indicate that the herbal de-stress roll-on is a stable, effective, and non-invasivesolution for daily relaxation.
