Abstract This paper introduces a semi-quantitative framework for evaluating the cognitive and technical baselines of Artificial Intelligence models acting as the Person Having Ordinary Skill in the Art (PHOSITA). By subjecting both centralized cloud architectures and decentralized, local open-weight models to identical diagnostic engineering constraints, this study maps the divergence in their problem-solving trajectories. The experiment, catalyzed by an 88-day period of absolute internet isolation, utilizes a complex high-wind satellite alignment problem to demonstrate how online models represent convergent, consensus-driven engineering, whereas offline models exhibit high-fidelity classical physics alignment prone to unaligned, divergent cognitive leaps. These findings are ultimately contextualized within the sociological impacts of intellectual isolation, arguing that connection to the global computational grid is an absolute cognitive requirement for true delta-invention.
