This review summarizes the mechanisms, clinical presentations, and management of ST-segment elevation, a rare but feared complication occurring during various arrhythmia ablation procedures.
Why the study?
Coronary injury presenting as ST segment elevation is a rare and feared complication during arrhythmia ablations with multiple recent reports.
What are the mechanisms, presentations, and management strategies for ST-segment elevation occurring during arrhythmia ablations?
What are the mechanisms, presentations, and management strategies for ST-segment elevation occurring during arrhythmia ablations?
This review provides a comprehensive overview of the mechanisms and management of ST-segment elevation, a rare but critical complication during electrophysiological ablation procedures.
Supports vigilance during ablations; leaves open standardized prevention and management protocols.
Coronary injury presenting as ST segment elevation (STE) during ablation procedures for different arrhythmias is a rare and most feared complication. There have been multiple reports on STE during various ablation procedures in the recent past. Herein, we review various mechanisms, presentations, and management of STE observed during various ablations, including atrial fibrillation ablation cavotricuspid isthmus and ablation, supraventricular tachycardia ablations, coronary sinus ablation, and ventricular arrhythmia ablations.

Kichloo et al. (2021) conducted a review in ST-segment elevation during arrhythmia ablations. Arrhythmia ablations was evaluated. This review summarizes the mechanisms, clinical presentations, and management of ST-segment elevation, a rare but feared complication occurring during various arrhythmia ablation procedures.
