Aging interest groups and others concerned with the elderly population should give careful consideration to broadening the politics of aging by emphasizing justice between rich and poor and advocacy for all age groups. Such a politics would provide continued support for universal programs such as Social Security and be based on the principle that those most able to contribute to societal progress, regardless of age, bear the greatest burden. It would also involve aging interest groups in developing a multi-generational agenda and strategy.
