ABSTRACT This study examines the impact of rural financial development on the income of agricultural product processing practitioners in Shanxi Province, China. Using Stata statistical software and a VAR model, an empirical analysis was conducted on time series data from 1989 to 2023 to uncover the intrinsic relationship between rural financial development and the number of agricultural product processing workers in Shanxi Province. The empirical results indicate that the scale, structure, and efficiency of rural financial development in Shanxi Province all have a positive impact on the growth of the income of agricultural product processing practitioners. Based on the empirical findings, this study proposes four policy recommendations to enhance the income of agricultural product processing practitioners through rural financial development in Shanxi Province. These include expanding the scale of rural financial development and improving the rural financial service system; optimizing the structure of rural financial development and increasing the proportion of agricultural loans; enhancing the efficiency of rural financial development and reducing the outflow of rural capital; and actively implementing a strategy of revitalizing agriculture through technology while promoting innovation in rural financial models.
